Leaving from Jerusalem, we will travel by the Qumran caves (where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered), and get to the north end of the Dead Sea. After a short break we will continue to the famous Masada fortress, located near the southern end of the Dead Sea. At the nearby Ein Gedy Kibbutz or at the Hotels on the Dead Sea beach you can later enjoy Spa treatments. Our Private Taxi Driver will pick you from your hotel, stay with you all day long, and return you safely and in good time. |

Masada is an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert rising more than 400 meters above the Dead Sea. The cliffs and escarpments in the desert area provided Masada with a perfect natural defense system and a very dry climate. In ancient times, attempts to capture the fort were foiled by the sheerness of the cliffs. Although the mountain had natural fortifications, Herod built a casemate wall around the entire summit. This was a tremendous undertaking, since the summit was 600 meters long and 300 meters across at its center. |
