Nazareth - Backgound

Located in the lower Galilee, the city of Nazareth was a major Jewish residential are during Roman times. According to the New Testament, it was home to Joseph and Mary and the site of Annunciation. Researchers believe that in his youth, Jesus spent some years in the city, and may even have been born there.

The modern city of Nazareth has a population of some 65,000 most of who are Arab Christians. It has a number of sites of religious and historic value located primarily in the city's Old Market.

One day trip to Nazareth: a private taxi driver will pick you up from your hotel and take through the panoramic scenery of the Galilee and the historic sites of Nazareth such as the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph.
